Easter Bunnies
Social Secretary Joanna organised a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt on the Allotments on Easter Sunday.
Nineteen children took part in challenges including "find a chive plant", "find an aphid" and "spot some rabbit droppings" (outside the fences, obviously) and an egg and spoon race. The all important cake was provided by Joanna, Wendy C, Aimee and Sophie and lots of people including Dick donated eggs for a raffle.
£12.50 was raised towards allotment funds!
Many thanks to all concerned.

Growing Tips from Ruth Swales at Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change
Several allotmenters attended Ruth Swales' Growing Vegetables workshop on Saturday 2nd April and learnt some basics about plant growing, including soil conditioning, common pests and how to avoid them, planting and thinning and crop rotation.
Some useful tips included:
FREE lidless plastic composters OFFER
Ruth Swale of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change has offered a free composter to anyone on the Lethlean Lane site who is interested.
Please note, these are LIDLESS black plastic and you may wish/need to manufacture a lid.
If you would like one, please email Aimee. They will be delivered to the allotments at some point in the next couple of weeks.
The Hayle Allotment Society
Welcome to the Hayle Allotment Society Website.
We are a group of friendly and enthusiastic growers based in Hayle, mostly on the Town Council Allotment Site at Lethlean Lane.
We have an open membership policy and would love other allotmenters or gardeners in the Hayle area to join our group.
Membership is £10 per year, per plot or garden, and is open to all regardless of gender, disability, race, ethnicity, age, etc.
We do not manage the Lethlean Lane site - the allotment waiting list is held by the Town Clerk of Hayle Town Council who can be contacted on 01736 755005 http://www.hayletowncouncil.net/
Rose and Cabbage Plant Sale and Show - Dates for your diary
The Hayle Rose and Cabbage Society will be holding a Plant Sale on Saturday 7th May at Phillack Church Hall.
They will also be holding their Annual Show on Saturday 23rd July. This is a great opportunity to show off your allotment produce and maybe win a prize!
More details of these events will follow, including competition categories for the Show.
The Hayle Allotment Society will be supporting the Rose and Cabbage Society for these events - please let Aimee know if you are interested in getting involved with organisation. The Rose and Cabbage Society will be attending our next meeting on Friday 6th May to discuss how the organisations can work together.
