Wildflower meadow on the Cemetery Extension
With the talk about making the cemetery extension a wildflower meadow I noticed this article in the Cornwishman this week http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Time-trim-wildflower-meadow/story-202349... and wondered if we might be able to get some help from them? or is Hayle in Bloom and Hayle Town Council running with this now?
Rhubarb plants wanted
Bodriggy Academy has got a veg plot supplying the school kitchen. They found that children really like rhubarb, but the one young plant they have doesn't produce enough. I was wondering if anyone has a rhubarb plant/s that they could donate to the school?
You could let me know and I would be happy to collect it, or bring it to school (say it's for Joanna, Andy or Dave).

Blight & Bees
Hi everyone - Anita from plot 19. Just thought I would let you know we have had potato blight this week. We've dug up those affected & treated any remaining plants but I notice there are a couple of other plots with blight.
We also seem to have a bees nest in the ground in our plot - someone from the bee farm is coming to look at that tomorrow for us. Will keep you posted with that one.
Harvesting - potatoes
Harvested the first of the lovely Red Potatoes kindly shared by Carole called Potato 'Sarpo Mira'.
Despite being stuck under the surprise polytunnel for the last few months (and so probably a bit underwatered) they grew brilliantly. Lovely clean potatoes and make excellent Jacket Potatoes.
Many thanks to Carole for her kind generosity.
